கர்மேல் மலையில் பெரிய வெற்றியைப் பெற்ற எலியா, யேசபேலின் மிரட்டலுக்குப் பயந்து வனாந்தரத்திற்கு ஓடுகிறான். சரீரத்திலும் மனதிலும் உடைந்தவனாய், சூரைச்செடியின் கீழ் மரணத்தை வேண்டுகிறான். கர்த்தருடைய தூதன் அவனைத் தொட்டு, பயணம் இன்னும் நீண்டது என்று உணவளிக்கிறார்.\n\nசோதனையும் ஏமாற்றமும் வரும்போது நாமும் மனதிற்குள் ஒரு குகையை உருவாக்கி தனிமையில் அடைந்து விடலாம்.
After a great victory on Mount Carmel, Elijah runs into the wilderness because of Jezebel’s threat. Broken in body and mind, he sits under the broom tree and asks to die. The angel of the Lord touches him, feeds him, and tells him the journey is still too much for him.\n\nWhen trials and disappointment come, we can also build an inner cave and withdraw into isolation.

Four questions that search the heart

“What are you doing here?” exposes Elijah’s situation. “Go out and stand before the Lord” challenges his posture. Wounds can make us forget our identity; like Naomi calling herself Mara, we may take the name of our pain. Yet our identity is established in Christ.\n\nElijah believed he alone remained. God’s purpose was not to abandon him, but to comfort, correct, and send him again.

The divine exchange
புதிய பொறுப்புக்கு முன் இதயத்தில் சுத்திகரிப்பு தேவை. நாஓமியின் கசப்பு, யோனாவின் கோபம், பேதுருவின் வெறுமை போன்றவற்றை நாம் வெளியேற்ற வேண்டும்.\n\nசிலுவையில் எதிரிகளுக்காக ஜெபித்த இயேசுவின் அன்பும், கல்லெறியப்பட்டபோது மன்னித்த ஸ்தேவானின் கிருபையும் நம் இதயத்தை நிரப்பட்டும். அன்பு, மன்னிப்பு, கிருபை, தயவு, இரக்கம் ஆகியவை கசப்பின் இடத்தை எடுத்துக்கொள்ளட்டும்.
Before a new responsibility, the heart needs cleansing. We must release bitterness like Naomi’s, anger like Jonah’s, and emptiness like Peter’s.\n\nLet our hearts be filled with the love of Jesus, who prayed for his enemies, and the grace of Stephen, who forgave while being stoned. Let love, forgiveness, grace, kindness, and mercy take the place of bitterness.
Act 4
குதிரைகளோடு ஓடும் புதிய பெலன்
New strength to run with horses
மெல்லிய சத்தத்தைக் கேட்டபின் எலியாவின் பார்வை மாறியது. தேவன் புதிய ராஜாக்களையும் எலிசாவையும் அபிஷேகம் செய்ய அவனை அனுப்பினார். சுயபரிதாபத்திலிருந்து அவன் மீண்டும் பணிக்குள் அழைக்கப்பட்டான்.\n\nகாலாட்களோடு ஓடும்போதே சோர்ந்த எரேமியாவிடம் குதிரைகளோடு எப்படி ஓடுவாய் என்று தேவன் கேட்டார். தேவன் அழைக்கும் அடுத்த பயணத்திற்கு தேவையான பெலனையும் அவரே தருகிறார்.
After hearing the gentle whisper, Elijah’s perspective changed. God sent him to anoint new kings and Elisha. He was called out of self-pity and back into service.\n\nGod asked Jeremiah how he would run with horses if running with people had wearied him. The God who calls us into the next journey also supplies the strength it requires.

Come out of the cave
இன்று உங்கள் உள்ளத்தின் குகைக்குள் அமர்ந்து, “ஆண்டவரே, நீர் என்னோடு இருக்கிறீரா?” என்று அழுகிறீர்களா? தேவன் உங்களைப் பார்த்து, “இங்கே என்ன செய்கிறாய்? குகையை விட்டு வெளியே வா” என்று அழைக்கிறார்.\n\nஉங்கள் கசப்பையும் கோபத்தையும் அவருடைய பலிபீடத்தில் அர்ப்பணியுங்கள். அவர் உங்களைத் தம் மதுரமான அன்பாலும் கிருபையாலும் நிரப்பி, புதிய அழைப்பிற்குள் நடத்துவார்.
Are you sitting inside an inner cave today, crying, “Lord, are you still with me?” God calls to you: “What are you doing here? Come out of the cave.”\n\nLay your bitterness and anger on his altar. He will fill you with his gracious love and lead you into renewed calling.

ஆண்டவரே, நான் மறைந்திருக்கும் குகையை நீர் அறிந்திருக்கிறீர். என் பயம், கசப்பு, கோபம், சோர்வு அனைத்தையும் உம்மிடம் ஒப்புக்கொடுக்கிறேன். உம்முடைய மெல்லிய சத்தத்தைக் கேட்கவும், உமது அன்பாலும் கிருபையாலும் நிரப்பப்படவும், புதிய பெலனோடு என் அழைப்பில் நடக்கவும் உதவி செய்யும். இயேசுவின் நாமத்தில், ஆமென்.
Lord, you know the cave where I have been hiding. I surrender my fear, bitterness, anger, and exhaustion to you. Help me hear your gentle voice, be filled with your love and grace, and walk in my calling with renewed strength. In Jesus’ name, amen.
